What Can We Do For You?

 

Medical and Community Resource Services Provided By The Free Clinic 

The Free Clinic is for adults over 18 who live or work in Cowlitz county and the surrounding communities and have no medical insurance.

  •  Pre-registration starts at 5:00 pm.
  •  No appointment is needed.
  •  The clinic offers urgent health care. Our scope of service includes, for example, cold and flu symptoms, ear infections, sore throats, sprains and strains, minor laceration repair, pregnancy testing , labwork and imaging studies as ordered by the health care providers, etc.
  • Referrals to dental services provided by the Cowlitz Family Health Center.
  • Referrals to a provider for vision problems as well as for glasses.
  • Referrals to primary health care providers for chronic health care conditions such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.
  • Mental health support provided by behavioral resource specialists from both Lower Columbia Mental Health and the Center for Behavioral Solutions
The clinic is open every Wednesday night from 5:30-9:00 pm.
The clinic is not able to provide:
  • prenatal care,
  • narcotics,
  • well adult exams,
  • psychiatric care,
  • dental services,
  • adult immunizations,
  • or severe trauma or emergency care.
  • STD/HIV testing, unless the patient is symptomatic

 

 

 

Laura Ebbinger - Community Outreach Worker for the Cowlitz County Health Department provides STD/HIV counseling and testing.

 

Our Mission:

To improve access to health care for the uninsured residents of Washington and Oregon.

  2. To provide access to the medications and labs needed for appropriate patient care.
  3.  To provide culturally appropriate education to patients for all personal health concerns.
  4.  To enroll eligible clients in private and governmental health care and prescription assistance programs.
  5.  To facilitate access to locally available primary health care providers.
  6.  To offer mental health support and access to services.
  7.  To facilitate access to substance abuse evaluations, interventions and treatment programs.
  8.  To facilitate access and referrals to specialty health care providers.
